Kickoff for this Saturday’s matchup between Ole Miss and Alabama in Oxford has been pushed back to 6:30 p.m. due to the projected path of Hurricane Delta.

Originally set to begin at 5 p.m., Ole Miss Athletics announced the time change with the intent to provide “a forecast for better game conditions.”

“This decision was made with the safety and wellbeing of our student-athletes, staff and fans as the priority,” Ole Miss AD Keith Carter said. “I appreciate the cooperation of the SEC, Alabama and ESPN in changing the start time, and we will be prepared to make any other necessary operational adjustments to ensure a safe gameday environment. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those that could be impacted by this storm.”

The gates at Vaught Hemingway Stadium will now open at 4:30 p.m. and parking lots will open at 3:30 p.m.

The storm has also caused the site of Saturday’s LSU/Missouri matchup to shift from Baton Rouge to Columbia.
