Mississippi’s total number of COVID-19 cases has surpassed 12,000.
The Mississippi State Department of Health reported 255 new cases this morning, bringing the state’s total up to 12,222. The confirmation of 10 additional deaths means that 580 Mississippians have tragically passed away due to the virus.
Hospitalizations along with the number of ICU beds and ventilators in use continue to see gradual increases.
According to the MSDH, there are currently 98 outbreaks in Mississippi long-term care families. An outbreak is defined by the department as “one or more cases among staff or residents.”
To date, 125,970 Mississippians have been tested for COVID-19.
